Here's a couple of things I've been thinking about recently.
The first is that people beleive things for reasons. It's brutally logical. There's even a puritan name for it- "natrual constitution." People have tendencies towards certain things because of different factors, like enviroment, genetic, general health... etc. It seems like the most basic obvious thought in the world, but the consequences of this idea are huge, because it makes it very hard to say anything for sure when you realize that it could be just your upbringing or something that makes you beleive it. And people don't think this way. People think that they beleive what they beleive because it's the truth regardless of the consequences, and everyone else is wrong. It makes me so angry. Of course there is truth out there, and it's important to get as close to it as you possibly can, but it's also important to understand that what we decide is always going to be tainted by petty human things like genes.
Annnnd... I can't remember what the second one was. haha.

Huh.
Thats a really good point, especially when you realize that EVERYONE is that way.

Hello. This post is likeable, and your blog is very interesting, congratulations :-). I will add in my blogroll =). If possible gives a last there on my blog, it is about the Notebook, I hope you enjoy. The address is http://notebooks-brasil.blogspot.com. A hug.
wow. all of a sudden we all have new friends.
yeah, I think that's even where big dissents in the church come in - like why we all argue about Calvinism/Armenianism haha. what a bummer that even Christians fall into that trap after we've found the truth.
just finished Mere Christianity, and I love how simply and clear-cut Lewis puts it. there's so many little things we fight over (and really we shouldn't when none of us knows for sure), but so long as we all agree on the main, basic facts, what does it matter?
Ultimately, it doesn't matter. But I think being human, and with the human natures we have, we like to have something to argue about and hash out.
I strongly disagree with you there Eowyn.
haha just kidding - I just wanted something to argue about. :)
Yeah, I agree, Em.
Like somehow that doesn't make your feelings real anymore. Or at least, that's how I feel.
I don't know. Just because it isn't FRESH and ORIGINAL doesn't mean it isn't real. Just because someone else had that feeling before and raised you with it doesn't mean it won't become your own. sometimes your feelings do change from your parents, your friends, your culture, and everything. you just have to get to that point of realizing what your opinions are and how you got them, why you have them, and if they line up with the truth.
which is why it's so important to have a real Truth to measure them by.
we really need a new post here I think.
Lindy-doodle. your turn.
:-)
