and then slaves we become to those we are indebted

till jubilee, when once again we are free

and slaves we become to yet another master - forgetfulness and the dim light which it brings

when will we be free of every master so to be our own?

should we strive for such a goal?

i pray that the gods will not answer
that their ears will be plugged and cold
that i can keep my judas touch

for love of life and freedom of speech
oh that the gods would only stay silent
growing cold to the touch from the air in the window
I wish I could feel again
some one give me your hand
oh that I might feel your touch

well. umm...sorry to interupt this interesting discussion.

My mom just finished the Picture of Dorian Gray. she didn't really like it.

sadness.

I guess I didn't know anything about Oscar Wilde when I read it. That had a LOT to do with it.

hm.
well i don't think you shouldn't judge how much you like a book by how the author lives. you loved it before you found out how he was, you should still love it. he made a beautiful piece of art.
in the same way that most of the bible was written by mindboggingly sinful people.
i think i liked oscar wilde's writing even more after i found out how he was, the brilliance of his views.
i think it's just an opinion of mine, but keep it in mind.

"there are no moral or immoral books, just well written and poorly written ones"

I agree... with both of you. Some times it's hard to enjoy some thing of some ones when you know how that person really is. I'm that way with some people. But staying objective and trying not to let it spoil the work that you enjoy is important. I mean, come on, if every author's work was judged by how he lived his life, we wouldn't even have poetry probably. Just saying. :)

I like that quote. Though I was enjoying our poetry in motion kinda thing. lol

btw, it's your turn. :)
